Recent Contributions to the Historiography of Linguistics in the Luso-Hispanic World

Niederehe 1994, 1999, 2005 with the aim of collecting bibliographical data on the relevant books and manuscripts for the study of the History of the Language Sciences in Spain. On the one hand, Esparza explains how the bibliography enlisted in the volume has been compiled, specifying the criteria followed for the texts to be included, the technicalities of the project and which libraries have been consulted to carry it out; on the other hand, this paper analyzes the particularities of the texts written in the 19th century, highlighting the increase of anonymous works and dictionaries published, the changes in the publishing places and the increasing importance of the grammatical information that appears in non-grammatical texts such as dictionaries or philosophical treatises.…”
