“…The coronavirus pandemic emerges during a time of increased calls for social justice and equity of access and therefore, presents a unique opportunity to increase information and E‐health literacy while simultaneously strengthening ties between black students and academic libraries. I support Davis and Saunders' (2021) call for “targeted services” in academic libraries aimed at black students. While it is important to recognize these structures, academic health sciences libraries must move beyond an empty recognition of systemic issues which institutions and information resources have so often been built upon [3,4].
