Beyond Causal Explanation: Einstein’s Principle Not Reichenbach’s

Abstract: Our account provides a local, realist and fully non-causal principle explanation for EPR correlations, contextuality, no-signalling, and the Tsirelson bound. Indeed, the account herein is fully consistent with the causal structure of Minkowski spacetime. We argue that retrocausal accounts of quantum mechanics are problematic precisely because they do not fully transcend the assumption that causal or constructive explanation must always be fundamental. Unlike retrocausal accounts, our principle explanation is a… Show more

“…The first state is called the “singlet state” and it is invariant under any of the SU(2) transformations , , or , corresponding to rotations of the SG magnets about the x , y , or z axes, respectively (for computational details applicable to this section see [ 57 , 58 ]). This fact aligns with the signature of in Equation ( 7 ).…”

“…Most generally, Information Invariance and Continuity leads to “average-only” projection/transmission/ … between the different reference frames of mutually complementary qubit measurements [ 8 , 55 ]. In Section 4 , we review how this result leads to the counterintuitive “average-only” conservation characterizing quantum entanglement per the Bell states [ 56 , 57 , 58 ]. Thus, “average-only” conservation responsible for the Tsirelson bound is explained by conservation per Information Invariance and Continuity (conservation per NPRF in spacetime).…”

“…Consequently, QM is as "complete as possible" given NPRF [25]. This extends to "average-only" conservation for a pair of spin entangled particles responsible for the "mystery" of entanglement.…”

“…After this paper was largely completed, I came across Reference [ 47 ], where Silberstein, Stuckey, and McDevitt provide a principal (structural?) account of EPR correlations “by applying a generalization of the relativity principle (“no preferred reference frame,” NPRF) to the measurement of Planck’s constant h to underwrite the qubit Hilbert space structure with its SU(2)/SO(3) transformation properties” (p. 21).…”
