“…In sala operatoria sono presenti numerosi combustibili, quali: il cemento per ossa che crea fumi durante il miscelamento, presidi, forniture e rifiuti; materiali come ad esempio camici, mascherine chirurgiche, tessuti, teli di carta, teli in polipropilene, spugne, garze; presidi in plastica e in gomma come i circuiti d'anestesia, vie aeree artificiali, coperture nere del tavolo operatorio, manicotto per la misurazione della pressione arteriosa, tubo endotracheale, cannule nasali, maschere di plastica, guanti, cateteri, materassi, presidi per il posizionamento del paziente, lacci emostatici. Molti di questi materiali sono composti di cellulosa o di fibre polimeriche come gomma, nylon, polietilene e polipropilene 1,3,4,14,18,29,32,35,39,40,47,48,51,52,55,81,85 e sono gestiti dall'infermiere di sala operatoria 37, 39 . Altri combustibili presenti in sala operatoria sono soluzioni e creme, come gli unguenti a base di petrolio, soluzioni antisettiche, tinture di benzoino, aneste-sia topica spray 32,35, 55 .…”
