JMFT received 192 total submissions, a 24% increase from last year's 152. We believe that this has to do with a number of factors, such as greater scholarly activity in our field, our reduced backlog, the timeliness of our review process, and the respectful, helpful nature of our reviews. Our acceptance rate in 2016-2017 decreased slightly to 24.4%. Our submissions came from 27 different countries, an increase of 8% from last year's 25. The time from initial processing by the editorial assistant to my (FP) first decision was about 45 days, with over half of all submitted manuscripts receiving an initial decision within 30 days. The JMFT doctoral student apprenticeship review program continues to grow. In the last year, 47 graduate students from 18 COAMFTE-accredited programs provided 62 reviews, a 13% increase of participating programs, with about the same level (a 4% decrease) in graduate student apprentice reviewer participation over the previous year. Also, the reviews these students provided (62) increased 15% over the previous year. These statistics plus the positive responses we have received from both doctoral students and faculty indicate that this is a positive learning experience for the apprentice reviewers.Nine authors submitted video abstracts this year, more than doubling the number of video abstracts from last year. (Video abstracts are video introductions to articles, a link to which is next to the article on the JMFT website.) Combined, these nine video abstracts have over 700 views on the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy YouTube channel. The following authors and articles are featured this year: John Gottman submitted a video abstract on his article,
