Beschreibung und empirische Fundierung des verhaltenstherapeutischen Moduls der MiSpEx-Intervention

Abstract: Back pain is a complex phenomenon that goes beyond a simple medical diagnosis. The aetiology and chronification of back pain can be best described as an interaction between biological, psychological, and social processes. However, to date, multimodal prevention and intervention programs for back pain that target all three aetiological factors have demonstrated limited effectiveness. This lack of supportive evidence for multimodal programmes in the treatment of back pain could be due to the fact that few progra… Show more

“…The exercise intervention included four different sensorimotor exercises, of which two directly trained the core stabilizing and core surrounding muscles, while the other two indirectly trained upper and/or lower extremities (detailed description see [27,29,30]). At the centre-based phase, the subjects were guided by sports-and physiotherapists, while the home training was audio-guided by a DVD.…”

“…The randomized controlled multicenter trial contained a broad measurement set up (such as questionnaires for the assessment of stress, depression, anxiety, fear-avoidance, pain vigilance, social support/attachment and lifestyle) which is not described in detail here, because the manuscript is focusing on the quality of the Risk Prevention Index (RPI-S, e.g., [29,32]).…”

“…Measurement during this twelve-week intervention program took place at the beginning of the program (M1), after 3 (M2), 9 (M3), 12 (M4), and 24 weeks (M5). In each measurement, questionnaires (for an assessment of psychosocial risk factors and mental health), physical examination, and biomechanical measurements (for an assessment of physical function) were applied (for an overview of the overall study design, see [19]). The study was registered as a clinical trial on 05/16/2013 in the German Clinical Trial Register with the identification number: DRKS00004977.…”

“…The above described SMT training was supplemented with (1) a cognitive distraction task during the SMT (see also [34,35]); (2) a body scan unit directly after the SMT; and 3psychoeducation. All three modules were provided via DVD and were delivered as an integrated part of the SMT training (cognitive distraction and body scan unit) or as a separate component (psychoeducation) (see also [19]).…”
