A search for a neutrino signal from WIMP pair annihilations in the centre of the Earth has been performed with the data collected with the ANTARES neutrino telescope from 2007 to 2012. The event selection criteria have been developed and tuned to maximise the sensitivity of the experiment to such a neutrino signal. No significant excess of neutrinos over the expected background has been observed. Upper limits at 90% C.L. on the WIMP annihilation rate in the Earth and the spin independent scattering cross-section of WIMPs to nucleons View the MathML source were calculated for WIMP pair annihilations into either t+t-, W+W-, View the MathML source or the non-SUSY View the MathML source as a function of the WIMP mass (between View the MathML source and View the MathML source) and as a function of the thermally averaged annihilation cross section times velocity Earth of the WIMPs in the centre of the Earth. For masses of the WIMP close to the mass of iron nuclei (View the MathML source), the obtained limits on View the MathML source are more stringent than those obtained by other indirect searches.Postprint (author's final draft

“…Given the non-detection of continuous VHE emission from FRB 121102, an upper limit on the flux was calculated using the method of Rolke [20] at the 95% level and using the bounded solution. Differential flux upper limits were calculated using spectral indices of -2 and -4 at 5.2×10 −12 and 4.0×10 −11 cm −2 s −1 TeV −1 at their respective energy thresholds of 0.2 and 0.15 TeV.…”

Fast radio bursts are bright, unresolved and short flashes of radio emission originating from outside the Milky Way. The origin of these mysterious outbursts is unknown, but their high luminosity and short duration has prompted much speculation. The discovery that FRB 121102 repeats has enabled multiwavelength follow up, which has identified the host galaxy. VERITAS has observed the location of FRB 121102, including coincident observations with Arecibo. We present the results of a search for steady very high energy γ-ray emission and the methodology for searching for short timescale, transient optical and very high energy γ-ray emission.
