Benzothiazole Encapped Silane and Its Nano Composites for Sequential Detection of Copper Ions and Cysteine in Aqueous Solution

Abstract: This work describes the study of photophysical properties of triazolelinked benzothiazole based Silane (K3) and its nanoparticles (K3‐NPs). Interestingly, both K3 and K3‐NPs exhibited highly selective chemo‐sensing ablility for Cu2+ ions. The significance of N, S and triazole group in synthesized compounds for Cu2+ sensing has been confirmed by structure‐property studies. Concentration dependent colorimetric metal sensing studies indicate that Cu2+ can be detected up to 10 μM. DFT studies, colorimetric analysi… Show more

“…16,17 Various methods have been employed to detect these metal ions, but UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy methods are preferred due to their easy sample preparation and excellent selectivity and sensitivity. 18,19 While some probes have been developed for dual recognition of Co 2+ and Cu 2+ , there is still a need for innovative receptor molecules with improved performance.…”
