The concept of localized hyperplasia of préexistent lymphoreticular tissue is in agreement with the views expressed by Hellier,6 Mopper,7 and Thies.8 In support of this concept, one finds in the history of the condition the frequent occurrence of mechanical trauma or of insect bites.
