Recently, balloon dilatation of the prostatic urethra with a large balloon catheter has been applied safely and successfully for benign prostatic hy perplasia [3], We have performed balloon dilatation of the prostatic urethra for patients with urinary retention due to benign prostatic hyperplasia with satisfactory results [4]. Then, we treated 2 cases of entire urethral stricture using a balloon dilatation catheter and also obtained a satisfactory outcome.…”
