Abstract:This work examines the cryogenic bending response of carbon nanotube (CNT)-based polymer composites through experiments and multiscale simulations. Flexural tests on CNT/polycarbonate composites were performed at cryogenic temperatures. Multiscale analysis was also performed to predict the composite behavior at cryogenic temperatures. The variations of the mechanical response with the interfacial damage state were discussed, and the simulation results were utilized to understand the experimental observations.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
