Bending mechanical properties research on prestressed airport concrete pavements

Abstract: To prevent airport pavements from suffering fatigue failure before the end of designed life and to construct high‐grade airport concrete pavements quickly, this study has developed a method which applies the prestressed concrete to airport pavements. A three‐point bending loading scheme has been designed to conduct the bending, flexural strength, and fatigue tests on 96 concrete beams. The results showed that, compared with ordinary concrete beams, the resistance of prestressed concrete beam to bending deforma… Show more

“…[49][50][51][52] Currently, the emergency repair of airports primarily relies on the combination of flying object refill, graded broken stones, roller compacted concrete, and other base courses with glass FRP pavement slabs and assembled aluminum pavement slabs. [53][54][55][56][57] However, with the use of cluster bombs, the traditional combat mode based on air bombardment or "spotted attack" by heavy guided munitions has been fundamentally transformed, and the destruction of targets has been characterized by "large scope, serious damage, and long blockade." In this case, existing emergency repair and construction materials can no longer fully cope with new repair needs, and novel emergency repair materials and construction methods are in urgent need.…”

“…Fan et al studied the rise time, ringing counts, energy characteristics, and Kaiser effect of AE under the dynamic uniaxial tensile load of concrete prism. Three‐point bending and four‐point bending tests are also commonly used in the study of concrete fracture test methods . Aggelis et al and Verbruggen et al studied damage monitoring of four‐point bending beams by combining acoustic emission and DIC, respectively.…”
