Technical safety and integrity verification processes play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, minimizing risks, and enhancing asset performance. This review analyzes the influence of rigorous safety and integrity verification on project timelines, cost efficiency, and overall asset performance in the oil and gas industry. Safety and integrity verification processes encompass a comprehensive assessment of design, construction, and operational phases of oil and gas projects. These processes involve rigorous inspections, testing, and verification activities to ensure that assets meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. By adhering to these processes, operators can mitigate safety risks, prevent accidents, and safeguard human lives, as well as protect the environment. Moreover, rigorous safety and integrity verification contribute to efficient project delivery by identifying potential hazards and deficiencies early in the project lifecycle. Through proactive risk assessment and mitigation, operators can address issues promptly, thereby minimizing delays and cost overruns. Additionally, adherence to safety and integrity standards instills confidence among stakeholders, investors, and regulatory authorities, fostering trust and credibility in project execution. Furthermore, the impact of technical safety and integrity verification extends beyond project delivery to asset performance throughout its operational lifespan. Assets subjected to thorough safety and integrity verification processes exhibit higher reliability, availability, and operational efficiency. Pipelines are observed one of the economic modes of transport for transporting oil, gas, and water between various locations. Most of the countries in the world transport petroleum and other flammable products through underground pipelines. The underground and aboveground pipelines are facing various damages due to corrosion, dents, and ruptures due to the environment and operational fluid conditions. The danger of leaks and accidents increases as a result of these damages. Pipelines must be evaluated on a regular basis to make sure they are fit for transmission. By evaluating the effects of damages and the possibility of catastrophic failures using a variety of techniques, pipeline integrity is controlled. Applying the relative risk scoring (RRS) technique, pipeline failures are predicted. One of the probabilistic techniques used to forecast risk based on an impartial assessment is machine learning. With different parameters like corrosion, leakage, materials, atmosphere, surface, earth-movements, above-ground and underground facilities, etc., the RRS method provides an accuracy of 97.5% in identifying the risk and gives a precise classification of risk, whether the pipeline has a high, medium, or low risk without any delay on the prediction compared with Naive Bayes, decision tree, support vector machine, and graph convolutional network.

The effectiveness of the occupational health and safety management system came under criticism for its inability to reduce work accidents effectively. Consequently, a new approach, the safety culture approach, emerged. One noteworthy development in safety culture research is the safety culture maturity model. This study briefly overviews recent progress in the safety culture maturity model. To assess the model's current status and development trends, a bibliometric analysis approach was employed, utilizing journal articles listed in Scopus and Pubmed.The maturity model for safety culture is an evolving area of research, primarily focused on the construction sector but progressively extending to diverse industrial domains beyond high-risk companies. The predominant research involves the development of maturity models, with only a limited portion dedicated to assessing the model's validity and reliability, exploring connections between maturity measurements, safety performance, and overall organizational effectiveness. The multitude of safety culture definitions influences the use of diverse dimensions in assessing work culture. Typically, a five-level maturity scale with various labels is employed in these studies.
