Benchmark Test of JENDL-4.0 Based on Integral Experiments at JAEA/FNS

Abstract: The major revised version of Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Library (JENDL), JENDL-4.0, was released in May, 2010. As the benchmark test of JENDL-4.0 in the shielding and fusion neutronics fields, we analyzed many integral benchmark experiments (in-situ and Time-of-Flight (TOF) experiments) with DT neutrons at JAEA/FNS with the MCNP code and JENDL-4.0. The experiments with assemblies including beryllium, carbon, silicon, vanadium, copper, tungsten and lead, nuclear data of which were revised in JENDL-4.0, wer… Show more

“…Our model included the various components of the experiment, such as the neutron source, moderator, the SDD, and the irradiation room. We ensured that the angular distributions of neutron energy and flux at the target matched those previously validated at the Fusion Neutron Source (FNS) of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency [37][38][39][40], because the OKTAVIAN employed the same target system as that in FNS. Subsequently, we compared the neutron energy spectrum at the position of the SDD to the deduced neutron energy spectrum.…”
