Bem-estar para cães de trabalho de uma penitenciária no Rio Grande de Sul

Abstract

The objective is to describe the activities developed with the intervention dogs in the sectoral kennel of the State Penitentiary of Arroio dos Ratos (PEAR/SUSEPE-RS) aiming at maintaining the physical and mental health, well-being and quality of life of the dogs. The handling by the cynotechnicians in the kennel routine is pointed out, thus promoting a better engagement in the missions in which they work, as well as a more even and healthy coexistence, thus guaranteeing their well-being, resulting in better performance in working with your canine technical partner, in addition to demonstrating the five freedoms in these activities: behavioral, psychological, environmental, sanitary and nutritional.
