Fur das dritte aktive H-Atom, das neben den beiden H-Atomen der Carboxylgruppen im H a m i n enthalten ist, haben wir von Anfang an die Zugehorigkeit zu einer NH-Gruppe in Erwagung gezogen, wie sie in der neucn Hamin-Formel von F. H a u r o w i t z 2 ) auftritt. Es schien nicht unmoglich, da13 dieses Wasserstoffatom durch Acetyl ersetzbar sei. Unsere Versuche, das Hamin zu a c e t y l i e r e n , nahmen aber einen ganz anderen Verlauf.I,a& man auf Eisessig-Hamin (nach M. Schalfejeff) in Pyridin-Chloroform bei Zimmer-Temperatur Essigsaure-anhydrid einwirken, so scheiden sich nach einiger Zeit herrlich ausgebildete, spindelformige Krystalle ab, deren Menge nach eintagigem Stehen 80% des angewandten Hamins erreicht. Die Krystalle (Fig. z der Tafel) sind im auffallenden Licht tief dunkel, mit Halbmetallglanz, im durchfallenden Licht erscheinen sie rotlichbraun und zeigen schwachen Pleochroismus. Ihre Ausloschungsschiefe (0 -zo) ist sehr vie1 kleiner als die des Hamins (3z0, Fig. I). Die Analyse gibt dieselben Zahlen wie fur das angewandte a-Chlor-Hamin.Es ist also nicht Acetylierung, sondern Uml a g e r u n g eingetreten.Fur das neue Isomere schlagen wir den Namen Allo-hamin vor. Bromund Jod-Hamin lassen sich in der angegebenen Weise ebenfalls leicht zu AUo-verbindungen isomerisieren.Der krystallographischen Verschiedenheit steht eine verbluffende Anderung der Loslichkeits-Eigenschaften zur Seite. Allo-hamin ist in Chloroform und Aceton sehr leicht loslich, ganz unloslich aber in 2-n. Soda bei gewohnlicher Temperatur. Die beiden Carboxyle des Hamins geben sich in der All0 -Verbindung nicht zu erkennen. Beim Aufkochen der Soda-Losung tritt allerdings schon nach kurzer Zeit vollstandige Losung ein, ein Unterschied gegenuber den Dialkylestern des Hamins, die auch bei langerem Kochen von Soda-Losung nicht aufgenommen werden.
