Beiträge zur Chemie des Phosphors. 43.

Show more

“…The side chain was not lengthened by reaction of 4 with ^(PBu1^; instead the retroreaction to 3 according to eq 19 occurred at higher concentrations of the diphosphane. 2H2(PBu')2 -H2(PBu')3 + Bu^H,, (16) 2H2(PBut)3 -P5Bu'4H + Bu'PH2 + Bu'H (17) 3 (PPh) 3 together with (PPh)4CH2, Et2NH, and CH3-NEt2 were formed by the reaction of [(Et2N)2CH]2PhP with phenylphosphane at higher temperatures. 74 Formation of (PPh)4 and (PPh)6 can be observed on disproportionation of the open-chain phenylphosphanes H(PPh)"H (n = 2-4).…”

“…A decomposition-free separation of the first members of the series P"H"+2 with n = 1-4 can be achieved at column temperatures between -50 and +200 °C. 17 The separation of higher homologues with n> 4 as well as their constitutional isomers (see sections VI-IX) and the preparative isolation of individual openchain polyphosphorus hydrides in the pure state should also be realizable by a shortening of the residence time on the column (increase in heating rate).…”

“…While compound 9 remains unchanged up to a P2H4/LiBun ratio of 8:1, 10 reacts to furnish the polycyclic tetradecaphosphide 16. Finally 9 also reacts further by way of the heptaphosphides 17 and 18 to yield the final product 7 which is additionally formed in the last step by degradation of 16. The different courses of the reaction at -25 and -78 °C can be attributed to the increasing solubility of PH3 in THF with decreasing temperature. Hence, PH3 can participate to a greater extent in the reaction process at -78 °C.…”
