“…Our previous study demonstrated that BA for subthreshold depression leads to functional changes in the left ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (PFC) and angular gyrus during loss anticipation in a monetary incentive task (Mori et al 2016). …”

“…As is known, the VLPFC is considered to be negatively correlated with negative affect [32] and inhibitive controls of negative emotions and cognitions, such as reappraisal [33]. Meanwhile, a recent research showed that depression patients had decreased activation of left VLPFC compared to normal controls when processing negative information such as loss [34]. Furthermore, decreased ALFF values in the left VLPFC were negatively correlated to the HDRS score of D-SAPHO patients in our study, which suggested that ALFF measurement in left VLPFC would be a good marker to detect and evaluate the severity of depression in SAPHO patients.…”

“…Dimidjian et al [72] indicated that treatment effects of behavioral activation are comparable in efficacy to pharmacological therapy for individuals suffering from depression. Our previous studies reported that behavioral activation improved abilities both to access positive reinforcing activities and to engage in rewarding behaviors under adverse circumstances [73,74]. Additionally, Jacobson et al [69] showed behavioral activation significantly improved self-concept in people with depression.…”
