“…The following analysis results from our collaborative efforts to understand the deep history of playing with bulls in Peru. Alex Menaker has worked in Andagua for nearly a decade, conducting the first systematic archaeological investigation in the valley; he also collaborated with local stakeholders and descendant community members to document more recent social history pertaining to the era of gamonalismo (Menaker 2019a, 2019b).
