Abstract

BCG-vaccine/ketamine Convulsion, M. Tuberculosis and M. Bovis infections: 2 case reportsIn a retrospective study including 173 patients treated for peripheral lymphadenopathy between 1 July 2012 and 30 June 2014, two patients were described [ages and sexes not stated], of whom 1 patient developed convulsion during treatment with ketamine, and the other patient developed M. Tubeculosis as well as M. Bovis infections following BCG vaccination [ages, sexes, routes and dosages not stated].The patients, who had been diagnosed with peripheral lymphadenopathy, had undergone fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). Subsequently, 1 patient started receiving sedation with ketamine. However, the patient developed convulsion attributed to ketamine therapy. Apparently, the other patient, received BCG vaccine. Thereafter, the patient's FNAB confirmed cultures for M. Tubeculosis and M Bovis. Therefore, he was diagnosed with M. Tubeculosis and M. Bovis infections attributed to BCG-vaccine [durations of treatments to reaction onsets and outcomes not stated].
