Abstract: Hadrianopolis was first settled during the Roman period. Many know it as an archaeological treasure trove, both for late antiquity and–more recently–pre-history. For the latter, a series of handmade red clay pots found in a pit at its necropolis proves this. Moreover, archaeologists have also uncovered walls bearing prehistoric, mortar-free stone masonry techniques that pre-date Hadrianopolis itself.
