Basics of Ferrites: Types and Structures

Abstract: This chapter summarizes the detailed introduction, types of magnetism, classifications of ferrites and their crystal structure. In addition, this chapter has the main focus on the magnetic properties possessed by ferrites on the basis of the soft and hard nature of ferrite materials. This chapter summarizes the recent work on the magnetic and dielectric properties of ferrites. Ferrites are primarily known for their high resistivity and highly magnetic nature which makes them suitable material over a wide range… Show more

“…[5] However, secondary metabolites found in many plant species have been demonstrated to inhibit the growth of harmful microbes. [1] Phytochemicals can be extracted from bark, flowers, fruits, leaves, roots, and seeds, to help combat bacterial and fungal infections. [2] Many different diseases and infections can be treated with the same herb in traditional medicine.…”

“…In addition to iron oxide, they may also contain other metal oxides [1]. High magnetic permeability, electrical conductivity, and exceptional chemical stability are all characteristics of ferrites Based on their crystal structure, ferrites may be categorized into several groups, such as spinel ferrites (AB2O4), hexagonal ferrites (BaFe12O19), and garnet (perovskite) ferrites (Bi3Fe5O12) [2]. Bismuth nano ferrite has a perovskite structure with a cubic unit cell and a corner-centered lattice.…”

“…Because of their practical signifcance and technical signifcance for a variety of applications in industry, electronic devices, magnetic materials, etc., metallic nanoparticles have been extensively and thoroughly studied [3,4]. According to the structure of their crystals, ferrites can be classifed into three groups: spinel ferrite, garnet, and hexagonal ferrites, each of which has a distinct function [5]. However, due to their interesting properties, substituted W-type ferrite possesses promising potential for technological application.…”
