“…A similar pattern was obtained in a sample of Japanese undergraduates (Nishimura & Suzuki, 2016). Moving beyond these cross-sectional findings, Cordeiro et al (2016) showed in a sample of undergraduate students that, after controlling for baseline levels in well-being, need satisfaction positively predicted an increase in well-being, whereas need frustration was related to an increase in illbeing (see Campbell et al, 2018). Meanwhile, several adaptations of the BPNSFS general are available.…”

“…SDT postulates three basic psychological needsfor competence, autonomy, and relatedness. The dynamics of these three needs are elaborated especially within the scope of one of the six SDT minitheories, the basic psychological needs theory, which proposes that a lack of support for these needs can have a large detrimental impact on well-being, as demonstrated by many studies (Cordeiro, Paixão, Lens, Lacante, & Luyckx, 2016;Nie, Chua, Yeung, Ryan, & Chan, 2015). According to Kuzucu and S ßims ßek (2013), SDT could also provide a framework for an examination of human aggression.…”
