“…Five studies examined associations between psychopathological dimensions and transition (Demjaha et al, ; M. Lam et al, ; Morcillo et al, ; Rietdijk et al, ; Valmaggia et al, ). Three studies explored the presence of psychiatric comorbidities and their associations with clinical and functional outcomes in subjects at UHR (Fusar‐Poli et al, ; Lim et al, ; Rutigliano et al, ).…”

“…Psychopathology was assessed using Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) [32] and Calgary Depression Scale (CDS) [33]. Measurement of negative symptoms was divided into two distinct sub-domains, i.e., amotivation and DE scores using PANSS based on previous factor-analytic studies [12,34]. Amotivation score was derived by summing the PANSS items N2 (emotional withdrawal), N4 (passive social withdrawal) and G16 (active social avoidance), while DE score was the sum of items N1 (blunted affect), N3 (poor rapport), N6 (lack of spontaneity) and G7 (motor retardation).…”

“…Corcoran et al () established an impact of negative, disorganized, depressive and general symptoms on social functioning in CHR, with negative symptoms showing the strongest correlations. Lam et al () confirmed a prospective predictive relationship between social amotivation and functional outcomes, but did not examine cognitive factors; several others confirmed similar effects in cross‐sectional studies (eg, Kim et al, ; see Cotter et al, for a review). Niendam et al () found an association between negative symptoms and functioning, as well as correlations between two specific cognitive measures (reasoning and verbal learning) and functioning.…”
