“…A summary of the quantitative and qualitative studies performed on karst groundwater is given in Table 1. According to Table 1, the quantitative methods for analyze the characteristics of karst aquifers adopted in the literature including: spring hydrograph modeling, e.g., by presenting a simple conceptual model of karst system (Wu et al 2019;Shirafkan et al 2021); spring recession analysis (Kovács et al 2015;Tang et al 2016;Nurkholis et al 2019;Olarinoye et al 2021;Chang et al 2021); estimation of fast-flow and baseflow recession coefficients (Nurkholis et al 2019;Olarinoye et al 2021); hydrograph separation (e.g., recurrent digital filtering) (Fatchurohman et al 2018), determination of karstification degree of karst aquifer (e.g., Mangin's approach) (Fatchurohman et al 2018;Nurkholis et al 2019;Shamsi et al 2019), hydrogeological simulation of karst system (using spring hydrograph analysis) (Kovács et al 2015;Hosseini et al 2017;Xu et al 2018;Torresan et al 2020); and statistical modeling the relationship between precipitation and discharge (Hosseini et al 2017;Chang et al 2021).
