“…The products of the base hydrolysis reaction after acidification, were cis-and irans-[Co(NH3)4-(NH2CH3)(OH2)] 3+ ions. The good resolution of the methyl signals in the 1 H NMR spectrum of the cis (<5 = 2.22ppm) and trans (<5 = 1.79ppm) aqua products allowed a quantitative evaluation, without isolation of the products [16]. “…The compound gave satisfactory elemental analysis and electronic spectrum. The isomeric purity of the complex was determined by its proton NMR spectrum in deuterated dimethylsulfoxide since it shows a single methyl signal (δ 1.74 ppm vs. tetramethylsilane), corresponding to a methyl group trans to SO 2 " [16]. The salt was shown to be free of [Co(NH3)4(NH2CH3)(OH2)] 3+ by chromatography on Dowex (Na + form) using 0.4 Μ NaC104 as eluant.…”
