Abstract:Diagnosis of Barrett’s oesophagus leads to an ongoing clinical uncertainty thereafter as to strategy for surveillance, due to the risk of dysplasia and carcinoma. The endoscopic findings have to be accurately classified macroscopically and on biopsy. Management of associated gastro-oesophageal reflux (GORD) is essential, and the chapter discusses detailed strategies for surveillance and treatment according to recent guidelines.
