Abstract:High-strength steel reinforcement in grade B600 with yield strength of 600 N/mm2 is gaining popularity for its potential to reduce the total amount of reinforcement used and improve construction productivity. However, longer lapped length is required by the conventional lap splicing method for bar continuity. Besides, the conventional design methods are limiting the strength of reinforcement due to strain compatibility issue which suggest that the concrete would fail before B600 rebar yield. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
