Bangladesh’s Development Goals and Japanese FDI: Prospects and Challenges

Abstract

He obtained his Ph.D. in International Development Cooperation from the University of Huddersfield, UK. Dr. Mamun's areas of specialization are aid and development effectiveness, international development cooperation, effectiveness of Japanese ODA in Bangladesh, and Japanese society and culture. He has the professional experience to work with international organizations including USAID, UNDP, UNCDF, JICA, JETRO and Mitsubishi Corporation, and government and local organizations such as ERD, NAPD, Cabinet Division, BRAC, ASA Asiatic Society for research, training report preparation and policy evaluation. Shamsunnahar is currently working as a research associate at the Pan Asia Research Institute (PARI).Previously she worked at the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS). She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in Peace and Conflict Studies , and obtained another master's degree in Japanese Studies from the University of Dhaka. Her research interest includes studies of South and East Asia, particularly Bangladesh-Japan relations, foreign aid, foreign direct investment, regional cooperation and development, international politics, regional politics, diplomacy, and political history.
