Band structure in the neutron-rich lanthanide nucleusNd152. I. Anomalous properties of the

Abstract: The P decay of Pr -+ Nd has been investigated. Levels and transitions in Nd were studied with p-ray spectroscopy including pp(e) measurements. The level scheme of ' Nd has been considerably revised and extended. Previously suggested K = 0, 2, and 3 rotational bands have been confirmed, and new band members have been identified. Similarly, a positive-parity K = 0 band has been confirmed, and extended to the 4+ level. The moments of inertia of the ground state band and the first excited K = 0+ band were found to… Show more

“…Previously, the level structure of 152 Nd has been studied by using various experimental methods [6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. The ground-state band and a negative-parity band based on a 2 − state have been identified.…”

“…This kind of structure of qp states and the rotational bands built on them are of current interest. Historically, two qp states in 156,158,160 Sm and 152,154,156 Nd have been studied by γ-ray spectroscopy following β-decay [1,2] and spontaneous and induced fission [3][4][5][6][7]. Lifetimes have been measured for some qp states and physical quantities have been compared systematically for the rotational bands built on them.…”

“…Note, that both, energies and B(E2) values for the excited k=0 band in the CBS model, represent model predictions without any further parameter adjustment. Figure 3 shows the same spectra for the nucleus 152 Nd [19]. In this case, only few data is available.…”
