Balanced incomplete block designs with block size 8

Abstract: The necessary conditions for the existence of a balanced incomplete block design on v ! k points, with index ! and block size k, are that:!v À 1 0 mod k À 1 !vv À 1 0 mod kk À 1 For k 8Y these conditions are known to be suf®cient when ! 1, with 38 possible exceptions, the largest of which is v 3Y 753.
