Bactericidal Activity of Nanosilver Against Pathogenic Microorganisms Which Cause Pecular Diseases of Genital Secretion Track

Abstract: Nano silver was known as a bactericidal agent for almost all bacterial species and has been intensively investigated over the world to apply for disinfection in different fields of human activities and environmental protection. Specifically, genital exudate media contain numerous dangerous bacteria such as Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans etc. which as a rule are drug-resistant with respect to antibiotics. This research presents the results of the applicatio… Show more

“…The toxicity threshold of AgNPs measured on HeLand U937 cells after 4 h treatment is 2 ppm [31]. However, no toxicity was found on HepG2 cells at the range of AgNPs concentration from 0.01 to 5 ppm [32], in addition, at the concentration of 0.01 mg cm −2 , AgNPs-impregnated non-woven fabric is also non-toxic or irritating skin, therefore is suitable for manufacturing individual hygienic products [16]. Obviously, the toxicity of AgNPs in the other cell lines are different, thus, depending on their application purposes, the toxicity threshold on involved cell lines should be investigated.…”

“…Chitosan stabilized AgNPs were prepared by a chemical reduction method using AgNO 3 as silver precursor and NaBH 4 as reducing agent [16]. Typically, 20 ml chitosan solution (10 000 ppm) as stabilizer was added to a 1000 ml beaker containing 210 ml of distilled water under stirring condition followed by the addition of 250 ml of AgNO 3 1000 ppm.…”

The solution was stirred at a rate of 300 rpm for one hour and then increased to 500 rpm before adding 20 ml NaBH 4 200 ppm by a dropwise method.…”
