Bacterial Hydroxylation of Pyrazon Compounds

Bei der lnkubation Chloridazon-abbauender Bakterien mit L-Phenylalanin (1) wird ~-(2,3-Dihydroxypheny1)alanin ( 2 ) im Medium akkumuliert. In geringeren Mengen konnen daneben L-O-und L-in-Hydroxyphenylalanin (3 bzw. 4) nachgewiesen werden. Die Bildung von ~-(2,3-Dihydroxypheny1)alanin wird im Zusammenhang mit bereits bekannten Stoffwechselwegen Chloridazonabbauender Bakterien diskutiert.~-(2.3-Dihydroxyphen~l)alanine, a New Natural Amino Acid During the incubation of chloridazone-degrading bacteria with L-phenylalanine ~-(2,3-dihydroxypheny1)alanine is accumulated in the culture medium. Small amounts of L-0-and L-rn-hydroxyphenylalanine can also be detected in the culture fluid. The formation of ~-(2,3-dihydroxyphenyl)-alanine is discussed in terms of the catabolic pathways in chloridazone-degrading bacteria.Aus verschiedenen Bodenproben Europas, Afrikas, Nord-und Siidamerikas konnten Bakterien isoliert werden, die mit Chloridazon (5-Amino-4-chlor-2-phenyl-2H-pyridazin-3-on, fruher als Pyrazon bezeichnet), dem Wirkstoff des rubenselektiven Herbizids ,,Pyramin", als einziger Kohlenstoffquelle wachsen'q2). Von den in der Bakteriologie ilblichen Kohlenstoffquellen ergibt Phenylalanin einen Wachstumseffekt2). Zur Charakterisierung der Bakterien wurde daher der Stoffwechsel des Phenylalanins untersucht.

Abstract: In cell suspensions of bacteria grown with 5-amino-4-chloro-2-phenyl-3 (2H)-pyridazinone (pyrazon) as sole source of carbon o-methyl-pvrazon and m-methyl-pyrazon were converted to the cor responding hydroxymethyl compounds. p-Methyl-pyrazon was not metabolized.
