“…The exception ( Sphingomonas ) is consistent with previous literature, whereby the order Sphingomonadales is a known oxidative degrader of TCP [ 31 ] and a known TCA producer [ 27 ]. The contribution of Sphingomonadales to the microbial conversion of TCP to TCA would be of importance because of a certain dominance of this species in drinking water distribution systems [ 32 ]. Although one isolate out of three Acinetobacter spp.…”

“…The aerobic denitrification capacity of strains PYX97 and TSJ96 monocultures and cocultures was investigated under different reaction conditions, including varying carbon/nitrogen ratio (C/N = 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13), pH levels (pH = 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9), and shaking speed (30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 rpm). The shaking speed in the dark shaking biochemical incubator was found to be associated with the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentrations. The relationship between DO concentrations and the shaking speed was measured: DO 30rpm/30°C = 1.6 mg/L, DO 60rpm/30°C = 3.5 mg/L, DO 90rpm/30°C = 5.2 mg/L, DO 120rpm/30°C = 6.5 mg/L, DO 150rpm/30°C = 8.4 mg/L. The denitrification performance was evaluated by measuring the nitrate concentrations and the OD 600 values at the end of cultivation.…”

“…For each concentration, a parallel group was set, and the concentrations of NO 3 − −N (and Fe(II)) were tested after 24 h. The NO 3 − −N reduction rate and Fe(II) oxidation rate were calculated as described above. The Haldane model was used to fit the data to see the effects of substrate concentration on nitrate reduction rate and Fe(II) oxidation rate [15] (Equation ( 1)):…”
