“…Enterohepatic circulation is the main way to regulate E2 metabolism due to its bioconversion in the liver, conjugated E2 is mostly excreted with bile, but some is hydrolyzed by gut microbiota, and reabsorbed in the intestines for various biological processes including bone remodeling [66,67]. Similar to the current results, Zhou [68] reported that adding Bacillus amyloliquefaciens increased serum E2 level in laying hens. We speculate that the increase of E2 level is attributed to the colonization and functional activities of Bacillus subtilis in the intestines.…”

“…And there were several studies revealed that lower hatchability and higher embryo mortality were found when hens were fed mycotoxin-contaminated feed (Ebrahem et al 2014), because mycotoxins could residual in eggs (Mojgani et al 2020). Therefore, the improvement of hatching performance may be that dietary Pal-Pro reduced mycotoxins transferred to eggs and increased the level of reproductive hormones (Wang et al 2017;Zhou et al 2020). As researches on the effects of Pal and Pro on hatching performance of broiler breeders are very limited, further study is still necessary to investigate its effect on the animal.…”

“…Adding Bacillus sp. to the diet of hens can increase the eggshell thickness and eggshell strength, improve the quality of eggshell, reduce the rate of broken eggs, and improve economic bene ts of farms [36,40]. Similarly, it was also reported that addition of Bacillus subtilus to the diet improved the Haugh unit and protein index signi cantly, and the thickness of egg shell was also improved [37].…”
