“…The mixture was ground thoroughly in an agate mortar and pressed to pellets (10 5 N), dried in vacuo (10 -3 mbar) at 400 K for 12 h, and placed in an argon atmosphere in a tightly closed steel container with a silver inlay (3-4 cm 3 ). [7,8] In a flow of dried argon the following temperature profile was applied: 298 K Ǟ 533 K (100 K·h -1 ); 533 K Ǟ 653 K (5 K·h -1 ); 653 K Ǟ 773 K (20 K·h -1 ) and subsequent annealing for 30 h at 773 K. The obtained mixture, containing brown powder and metallic cesium was post annealed for crystal growth at 773 K for 500 h, in arc-welded tantalum ampoules.
