<b>27</b>contribution to weak electromagnetic decays

The weak radiative decays of 1/2+ baryons are studied in a quark model as arising through single-quark spectator and nonspectator quark transitions. These decays seem to occur predominantly through nonspectator processes, where the quarks may interact through the exchange of colored gauge bosons. We compare the decay-amplitude sum rules in left Xleft and left Xright current-current interaction pictures.

Abstract: We notice that the assumption of octet dominance of the Cabibbo weak Hamiltonian is not required to explain the weak electromagnetic decays. In order to explain large asymmetry parameter a(Z+-p y) we consider A, contribution to the parity-violating Hamiltonian.
