“…Due to their specific chemical and physical properties, Ayurvedic Bhasma (nano particle), comprising of biologically derived metals and mineral NPs, could evolve as novel antiviral agents against covid-19. (Sarkar and Das Mukhopadhyay 2021 ). Several Ayurvedic Bhasma preparations are listed as being effective in the treatment of covid-19.…”

“…The Rasayana (immunomodulator) effect of Ayurvedic Bhasma preparations may be used as a vaccine adjuvant. In order to induce a quicker and stronger immune response, immunomodulators in Ayurveda can be used in conjunction with the vaccines of covid-19 (Sarkar and Das Mukhopadhyay 2021 ). Due to their antimicrobial properties, copper, silver, and zinc NPs are thought to be very effective in fighting covid-19 and preventing contamination and contagion.…”

“…Metallic NPs have been used in a myriad of ways. Some types of metallic NPs, like silver (Galdiero et al, 2011; Ghiuță & Cristea, 2020), copper (Jagaran & Singh, 2020), titanium (Khaiboullina, Uppal, Dhabarde, Subramanian, & Verma, 2020), zinc oxide, and iron oxide (Sarkar & Das Mukhopadhyay, 2021), have been incorporated into consumer products, including personal protective equipment (PPE) (masks and biosecurity suits) (Campos et al, 2020; Palmieri, De Maio, De Spirito, & Papi, 2021), disinfectants (Talebian et al, 2020), and cosmetics (Raj, Sumod, Jose, & Sabitha, 2012), among others (FDA, 2020). However, Talebian et al (2020) proposed an alternative use of silver, copper, and titanium dioxide metallic NPs because of their broad‐spectrum antiviral activity, persistence, and ability to be effective in much lower doses.…”

“…It has been proposed that Ayurvedic metal nano particles could be repurposed as novel antiviral agents against SARS-CoV-2. Some commonly used Ayurvedic nano-metallic preparations could have anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activity 20 . Rasasindūra and Suvarṇamālinī Vasanta Rasa are both such nano-metallic herbo-mineral preparations administered to our patient.…”
