Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho avaliar o desempenho técnico e de custos na atividade de desgalhamento na colheita de eucalipto com a motopoda e machadinha. Os estudos de tempos e movimentos mostraram que a atividade de desgalhamento demandou maior tempo para a motopoda e a atividade de limpeza exigiu maior tempo para a machadinha. O custo de produção foi similar para a motopoda e a machadinha. A motopoda apresentou maior produtividade e melhor qualidade do trabalho, evidenciando benefícios no processamento de desgalhamento na colheita florestal. ABSTRACTDelimbing is highly relevant in forest harvesting and it requires scientific studies to compare the manual and semi mechanized methods. The aim of this study was to evaluate the technical and costs performance in delimbing activity in the eucalyptus harvesting with pole pruners and hatchets. The studies of timing and movements demonstrated that delimbing required more time using the pole pruner, while the cleaning activity required more time using the hatchet. The cost of production was similar for the pole pruners and the hatchet. The pole pruners presented higher productivity and better work's quality, evidencing benefits in the forest harvest's delimbing process.

As observed by Oliveira et al (2012), when evaluating the quality of semi-mechanized pruning in stands of Pinus taeda, it is possible to relate the level of training and orientation of the crews with the occurrence of injuries. Thus, the greater the ability of team members who perform manual mowing, the lower the average percentage of injuries per hectare.…”

The methods of conducting the natural regeneration of Pinus elliottii are alternatives to planting with seedlings, where manual or mechanized mowing is carried out to reduce competition (density), while selective thinning is applied to select the most promising individuals. Thus, this study aimed to compare methods of conducting the natural regeneration of Pinus elliottii based on forest biometric variables: tree density ( ), basal area ( ), injuries to the remaining trees ( ) and production cost. For this, 19 circular plots of 380 m² were allocated in an experimental area of manual mowing with 22.5 ha and 6 plots in a mechanized mowing area with 7.2 ha. The Mann-Whitney test for independent samples was used to verify the existence of statistical difference between the discrete variables N and I , while the test t of Student de two samples, assuming different variances, were applied to the continuous variable G, both at the level of 5% significance. With of 2,012 trees/ha and of 4.07 m²/ha, mechanized mowing was more effective in controlling regeneration. No statistical difference was found between the methods referring to I, while the production cost of manual mowing was 51.7% higher. Thus, it is concluded that the method with mechanized mowing is the most suitable for conducting the natural regeneration of Pinus elliottii.

Basic information about growth rate and response to silvicultural treatments on potential native species are bottlenecks for the wide use of these species for forest production. In this context, the objective of this work was to evaluate the silvicultural performance of four native species as a function of pruning intensity. The experimental design was completely randomized with ten replications and one plant per plot, in a 4 x 4 factorial scheme, four forest species, and four pruning intensities. At 30 and 42 months, height (H) and diameter at breast height (DBH) were evaluated, then the current annual increment (CAI) was calculated, as well as the mean annual increment (MAI) at 42 months. Guazuma ulmifolia showed higher growth in height and DBH compared to other species at both ages. The pruning resulted in a reduction of MAI in 0.15 cm. year-1 in DBH for every 25% of pruning intensity.
