The Cerrado biome presents different physiognomies distributed throughout several Brazilian states. Studies related to species distribution as direct environmental factors may subsidize forest restoration projects. The objective of this study wasto evaluate ecological and structural differences and determine the species distribution based on soil factors in two physiognomies types of Cerrado. Data sampling was conducted in the area of influence of the sugar cane industry in southwest of Goiás, Brazil. Soil samples were collected in those plots and analyzed chemically and psysically. The results of the soil characteristics were useful to verify if the species distribution correlate with soil patterns through canonical components analysis (CCA).The structural aspects were higher in the plots identified as seasonal forest. Although the Ecological aspects, such as species diversity, were higher in the cerradão. The CCA showed a positive correlation between the tree species distribution with physicochemical characteristics of soil. The analysis showed a positive correlation between the distribution of tree species and the physicochemical characteristics of the soil. A group of species was related to higher fertility in the soil and clay content. Another group was correlated with low fertility and higher sand content soils.

Na área de borda desse fragmento, segundo a Divisão de Parques e Jardins da UFV, há 40 anos foi realizado o plantio experimental de Araucaria angustifolia, que desde então foi protegido e mantido sem ações de manejo.…”

O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a regeneração natural e a abundância de espécies exóticas no sub-bosque de um plantio experimental de Araucaria angustifolia, em Viçosa, MG. A amostra correspondeu a 40 parcelas de 2 m x 2 m, onde mediu-se o diâmetro ao nível do solo (DNS) de todos os indivíduos arbustivo-arbóreos com diâmetro ≤ a 5,0 cm e altura ≥ a 0,5 m. Foram calculados os parâmetros fitossociológicos e os índices de diversidade e equabilidade. As espécies foram classificadas quanto à forma de vida, classe sucessional e síndrome de dispersão. Foram amostrados 980 indivíduos, sendo observada maior proporção de espécies arbustivas, típicas de sub-bosque e zoocóricas. A espécie exótica Archontophoenix cunninghamiana, conhecida como palmeira australiana, obteve o terceiro maior valor de importância, a maior dominância e 19,25% da área basal total, valor consideravelmente maior que o das demais espécies. A. cunninghamiana foi caracterizada como uma espécie exótica invasora que domina o estrato de regeneração natural. A inibição da sucessão natural pela presença de espécies exóticas, como A. cunninghamiana, precisa ser monitorada, visando eliminar as espécies-problema, para garantir a continuidade do processo de sucessão.

-The aim of this study is to analyze the factors that affect the occurrence of fires in the vegetation, in the area of the Serra do Brigadeiro State Park (PESB) and its surroundings, and through this information to establish the most appropriate methodology to generate a risk map for fires in the place. A risk cartogram for fires was developed with the help of the ArcGIS 10.1 software, by the generation of maps of slope, aspects and land use. These maps were intercrossed, enabling the determination of the areas most susceptible to fires. Tested methodologies varied in the form of assigning grades to each predictor class of fire as well as in the division of risk classes. According to the results, the assignment of notes to each predictor class, depending on the size of the burned area and taking into account the history of events, reflected the risk of fires in vegetation in the region more satisfactorily.Keywords: Map; Fire; GIS. MAPEAMENTO DO RISCO DE INCÊNDIOS EM VEGETAÇÃO NO PARQUE ESTADUAL DA SERRA DO BRIGADEIRO (MG) E ARREDORESRESUMO -O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os fatores que condicionam as ocorrências de incêndios em vegetação na área do Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro (PESB) e arredores, e através destas informações estabelecer a metodologia mais adequada para a geração de um mapa de risco de incêndios para o local. A elaboração do cartograma de risco de incêndios foi feita a partir do software ArcGIS 10.1, com a geração dos mapas de declividade, exposição das vertentes e de uso e cobertura do solo. Estes mapas foram intercruzados, possibilitando a determinação das áreas mais suscetíveis aos incêndios. As metodologias testadas variaram a forma de atribuição de notas para cada classe de previsão de incêndios, bem como a delimitação das classes de risco. De acordo com os resultados, a atribuição das notas de cada classe de previsão, em função do tamanho de sua área queimada, ou seja, levando-se em conta o histórico das ocorrências, refletiu mais satisfatoriamente o risco de incêndios em vegetação na região.Palavras-chave: Mapa; Fogo; SIG. 2Revista Árvore. 2017;41(4):e410409Torres FTP et al.
