Avaliação do impacto da hidrodinâmica associada a um derramamento de óleo na Bacia de Cumuruxatiba (BA) com base no modelo MEDSLIK-II

Abstract: Oil spills are one of most impactful sources of marine pollution. The damage caused requires knowing the behavior of oil in the marine environment, through studies of prevention, control and mitigation of oil spills. In this study, two climatological simulations were carried out for the Cumuruxatiba Basin, for summer and winter periods, using the MEDSLIK-II oil spill dispersion model. The region was chosen due to its closeness to the Abrolhos National Park and the high environmental risk associated with the oi… Show more

“…Those structures have been under extreme wave conditions in intervals that are shorter than its lifespan. Among others metocean drivers, wave energy has promoted damage and build failures alongshore (Busman et al, 2014;Amaro et al, 2015;Scudelari et al, 2016;Prudêncio et al, 2019;Câmara et al, 2019;Matos et al, 2020), bringing environmental impacts, risk, and vulnerability for ecosystems and populations. Those effects may be intensified by a current business-as-usual atmospheric emissions scenario.…”

“…Extreme sea level events have eroded and flooded lowlands along the coast of Rio Grande do Norte State (RN), Northeast Brazil, promoting damages to structures and buildings near shoreline (e.g., Scudelari et al, 2005;Santos-Jr. et al, 2011;Busman et al, 2014;Amaro et al, 2015;Scudelari et al, 2016;Marcelino et al, 2018;Prudêncio et al, 2019;Câmara et al, 2019;Matos et al, 2020;Scudelari et al, 2021;. Those processes have harmed urban goods, industries, tourism, traditional populations, beach recreation, real estate market and sensitive ecosystems (e.g., Boori et al, 2010;Busman et al, 2016;Marcelino et al, 2018;Aguiar et al, 2019;Silva et al, 2020;Weiner et al, 2021;Lacerda et al 2022;Zamboni et al, 2022).…”
