Abstract: Résumé Notre texte cherche à retracer l’histoire des premières découvertes dans le domaine de la symbiose vers 1880. À cette époque, le parasitisme reste un cadre de référence très présent jusqu’à la définition de la symbiose. Les individus vivant en symbiose animale ou végétale sont souvent définis par rapport aux parasites.
