Autoxydation von Kohlenwasserstoffen, IX. Mitteil.: Über Peroxyde von Benzol‐Derivaten

Abstract: H o c k , Long. Reaktion zugegeben. Dabei entstand ein weil3er Niederschlag, der, aus Aceton %ma1 umkrystallisiert, den Schmelzpunkt des GI yc e r i n -t r i -p -n i t r o -b e … Show more

“…[1] In 2000, the worldwide production of phenol was 6.6 megatons. Most of this phenol is produced by the cumene process reported by Hock and Lang in 1944. [2] The direct conversion of benzene to phenol by hydroxylation with O 2 is the most desirable method among phenol syntheses.…”

“…Most of this phenol is produced by the cumene process reported by Hock and Lang in 1944. [2] The direct conversion of benzene to phenol by hydroxylation with O 2 is the most desirable method among phenol syntheses. However, indirect phenol production through the formation of cumene hydroperoxide and oxidative decomposition of benzoic acid are currently employed.…”
