AutoTube: a novel software for the automated morphometric analysis of vascular networks in tissues

Abstract: Due to their involvement in many physiologic and pathologic processes, there is a great interest in identifying new molecular pathways that mediate the formation and function of blood and lymphatic vessels. Vascular research increasingly involves the image-based analysis and quantification of vessel networks in tissue whole-mounts or of tube-like structures formed by cultured endothelial cells in vitro. While both types of experiments deliver important mechanistic insights into (lymph)angiogenic processes, the… Show more

“…SOD, GSH, and GPX were antioxidants which were downregulated by Mst1 overexpression and were reversed to near-normal levels with DRP1 knockdown. *p < 0.05 vs. ad-ctrl group; # p < 0.05 vs. ad-Mst1 + si-ctrl group injury, endothelial oxidative stress (Zhu et al 2018), fatty liver disease, and acute kidney injury (Montoya-Zegarra et al 2019). In the present study, we observed that mitochondrial division was activated by Mst1 overexpression, an effect that was accompanied by mitochondrial membrane potential reduction and cyt-c release.…”

“…death. Interestingly, Exenatide treatment attenuated ER stress, thereby sustaining cardiomyocyte contractile functions and favoring cardiomyocyte survival [38,39]. These results identified ER stress as a downstream target of Exenatide treatment.…”

“…In the present study, we reported that Akt activity and Parkin expression were rapidly downregulated in response to inflammation response. 66 Interestingly, overexpression of TrxR2 could reverse the activity of the Akt-Parkin pathway. These data support the functional importance of the redox balance in regulating the Akt-Parkin pathway.…”
