Autonomic Nervous System Regulation of Airway Tone

Abstract: The contractile state of airway smooth muscle, thickness of the airway walls, lung elastic recoil, mucus hypersecretion, and mucosal edema are the primary determinants of airway obstruction in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
