This study proposes a qualitative analysis to identify the best predictors for ensuring passive noise control, aiming to achieve superior acoustic comfort in transportation systems. The study is based on real experimental data on materials from six different classes and employs a multidisciplinary approach, including Mann‒Whitney U tests, Kruskal‒Wallis analysis with Dunn's post hoc multiple comparisons, and multilinear regression. This research presents an analysis and evaluation of how the physical properties of various materials influence acoustic comfort, acoustic absorption class, and absorption class performance and proposes quantitative models for material selection to address sustainable strategies in the automotive industry. The results highlight significant differences between material categories in terms of acoustic absorption properties and demonstrate the importance of rigorous material selection in vehicle design to enhance acoustic comfort. Additionally, the research contributes to the development of predictive models that estimate acoustic performance based on the physical properties of materials, providing a basis for optimizing material selection in the design phase.

With the popularization of intelligent cars, users' understanding of the value of cars gradually changes from a travel tool to a ''third living space'', and cabin comfort is becoming a criterion for evaluating the goodness of cars. In this paper, we start from the physical environment and human-computer interaction environment that affect the comfort of the intelligent cockpit of a car and establish a comprehensive comfort evaluation model of the intelligent cockpit of a car based on the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm in machine learning by conducting experiments on the comfort evaluation of the intelligent cockpit of a car and compare it with several classical machine learning algorithms. The mean square error (MSE) of the model based on the SVM algorithm is 0.00096, and the coefficient of determination (R 2 ) reaches 0.966, which is better than several other algorithms. The results show that the established evaluation model has good generalization ability and can evaluate the comprehensive comfort of the intelligent cockpit of the car, thus helping the cockpit to make timely and accurate comfort adjustments to ensure the occupant's riding experience. This project provides a reference direction for the comprehensive evaluation of cockpit comfort, which is of great significance for the future development of intelligent cockpit comfort. In addition, the comfort model can be applied to a variety of comfort evaluation scenarios, which has great practical value.

Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) researchers spend inexhaustible resources of materials, time and money in determining the objective factors that are important in ensuring acoustic comfort in vehicles. In this paper, the factors that directly influence the interior acoustic pressure level in a heavy-duty vehicle were investigated. It was determined using specific descriptors and different units of measurement in assessment of sound levels and the impact generated by noise, the level of interior acoustic pressure and particular values of some prominent sources of noise in the operation of vehicles (engine, HVAC system), taking into account the factors of insurance and thermal comfort, with the aim of determining the cumulative impact at the board of heavy vehicles due to noise.
