The rapid development of mobile computing, social network and smart phones have led to a surge in photograph data. Efficient exploiting, searching and reusing this data have become a problem gaining increasing concerns. However, current systems are still encountering many challenges from the differences in perceiving the meaning of a photograph between human and machines. Among many different approaches, semantic web has recently been proven to be robust enough to overcome these challenges. In this paper, we propose the semantic web approach to develop a system which reduces above differences by accommodating an additional layer that annotates metadata with the original photo to describe important and useful information for the user in both content and context semi automatically. We use a mobile application that connects with a semantic web application. With above solution, the interaction of user of the photograph system becomes simple, friendly and quickly more than ever.

Purpose- The number and the variety of photos have grown to a great extent as they can be created anytime, everywhere and spontaneously. Searching for a particular photo file has become a boring, repetitive and tedious activity. The application of an ontology to express the user profile characteristics relation with the narrative, spatial, time and other types of information of the collected photos becomes imperative.Design/methodology/approach -The work presented in our article includes the development of a personal photograph collections ontology (MyOntoPhotos) specialising in documenting the metadata of the topics that end-users prefer mostly to capture with their devices. An extensive survey, among 650 participants, was conducted with the use of an online questionnaire comprised of semi-closed questions, following the Likert scale and the scale category grading.Findings -The ontology created was based on the results of an extensive survey aiming to identify thematic areas of interest, apart from spatial and temporal information, as other similar efforts did in the past. It is mentionable that the survey results proved the majority of the responders selected 22 thematic tags.Originality/value - Based on the research findings an innovative concept for a mobile application is presented, focusing on enhancing end-users photo collections organizing and retrieval functions.

Fast development in low end devices permits so many extra aspects including huge storage capacity, sharing of data, formation of network, etc. User can use these aspects very efficiently. When data size is limited searching a particular file can done easily but difficulty comes when data size increases and it involves large collection of mobile nodes. In that case arrangement of data i.e. data organization and management become irritating work. However file system of devices itself provides a way to store similar files separately; still it becomes irritating when number of files increases. Even poor UI (User Interface) increases more difficulty in case of file retrieval. This paper presents model that allows user to annotate files and to search a file of interest on mobile devices. File is annotated using their spatial, common and temporal circumstance which are extracted from underlining operating system and used as a metadata which is used for searching a file of interest. The file search can be achieved on mobile itself or on other mobile also those are connected in Personal Area Network (PAN) using Bluetooth. The proposed model allows file annotation,
