Automatic validation of the gantry tilt in a computed tomography scanner using a head polymethyl methacrylate phantom

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to develop an automatic method for validating the computed tomography gantry tilt. A head polymethyl methacrylate phantom with a diameter of 16 cm was used. Gantry tilt angles were measured both manually and automatically. Manual measurements were performed by measuring the length of the anteroposterior and lateral diameters from acquired images using electronic calipers. Automatic measurements consisted of a number of steps: phantom segmentation, determination of the center of th… Show more

“…This software is very simple in application and easy to understand for new users. This software has been used in various research, such as research on automatic validation of gantry tilt (Noviliawati et al, 2021), research on automation of CT Number linearity measurements on ACR phantoms (Anam et al, 2023), research on evaluating automatic measurement of slice profile sensitivity (Widyanti et al, 2023), and research on the comparison of NPS and MTF in iterative reconstruction and deep learning reconstruction (Setiawan et al, 2023). The first step in the IndoQCT software is to upload images from each research protocol.…”
