Automatic circuit and layout design for mixed analog/digital ASICs

A mixed analog/digital IC layout compiler (DAVE) is presented. The compiler is a process independent tool which is able to generate arbitrary circuit layouts in MAG or CIF formats from SPICE circuit descriptions. The compiler not only handles typical mixed analog/digital layout constraints such as device matching, symmetry, and device shape constraints, but also fully decouples signal coupling between sensitive nets and noise nets. The compiler supports user-defined constraints on chip aspect ratio and the types of input/output pads.
