“…However, in real-life the complete problem is more complicated than what is dealt with in such papers. In [5], a CAD system, called SCADS, integrated in a major VLSI suite was introduced for automated synthesis of switched-current filters. SCADS is an integrated tool set for the complete filter design process.…”

“…Sampling current mode circuits are becoming a topic of wide interest (Toumazou, Huges and Battersby 1993b). Since its introduction in 1989, the switched current technique (SI) has been developed in numerous ways (see for instance (Fiez and Allstot 1990;Jie 1993;Hughes et al 1996;Jonsson 2000;Psychalinos 2005)). Compared to switched capacitor (SC) sampled data circuits, SI circuits offer important advantages: they are exclusively composed of MOS transistors, switches and current sources, instead of operational amplifiers (OpAmps), and precise floating capacitors, making them suitable for implementation in standard CMOS processes (Toumazou et al 1993b;Hughes, Worapishet and Toumazou 2000).…”

“…Unlike single sampling, double sampling processes two samples per clock period, thus can halve the clock frequency, lower memory cell's bandwidth, and enhance signal-to-noise ratio [18]. In addition, single-ended SI filter proposed in [22] employs current mirrors to realize signal inversion, which would introduce excess phase errors and greatly compromise the advantages of bilinear z-transform [18]. Fully-balanced structure does not have this problem, since the signal inversion can be realized simply by interchanging the two input or output terminals of the SI integrator.…”

“…But, for cancelling non-ideal behaviour, several enhancement techniques such as cascode and S 2 I can be used [10][11][12][13][14][15][16]. Particularly, when S 2 I technique is selected to realize M i and J, Fig.1(a) can be specialized to the structure used in [17,18].…”
